چکیده

Mineral dust is one of the most important aerosol components in Earth’s atmosphere. Desert constitute main types tropospheric aerosols whose optical property uncertainties are still quite important. In this study, we analyse variability depth (AOD), Angstrôm Exponent (α), Single Scattering Albedo (ω 0 ) and radiative forcing (ARF) desert recent measurements, for six AERONET sites covering belt areas: Ouarzazate (Morocco), Tamanrasset (Algeria), El Farafra (Egypt), Mezaira (Unites Arab Emirates), Kuwait University (Kuwait), Dalanzadgad (Mongolia). The annual cycle dialy averages shows variable values due to changeable weather Sahara source. highests were recorded at site (2.2 Tamanrasset) (2.9 Kuwait-University). spectral single scattering albedo SSA varies interval (0,8-0.95) indicating dominant scattering. always a negative ARF with maximums registred July, -90 W/m 2 surface (Mezaira) -26 top atmosphere (Kuwait) that imply general trend towards regional warming total column maximum near +55 observed July UAE.

Aerosol absorption and radiative forcing

We present a comprehensive examination of aerosol absorption with a focus on evaluating the sensitivity of the global distribution of aerosol absorption to key uncertainties in the process representation. For this purpose we extended the comprehensive aerosol-climate model ECHAM5HAM by effective medium approximations for the calculation of aerosol effective refractive indices, updated black car...

Aerosol Characteristics at a High Altitude Location in Central Himalayas: Optical Properties and Radiative Forcing

Collocated measurements of the mass concentrations of aerosol black carbon (BC) and composite aerosols near the surface were carried out along with spectral aerosol optical depths (AODs) from a high altitude station, Manora Peak in Central Himalayas, during a comprehensive aerosol field campaign in December 2004. Despite being a pristine location in the Shivalik Ranges of Central Himalayas, and...
